One of my favorite accounts of Jesus is His interaction with the woman at the well in John 4. Jesus took a risk to speak to a woman of another culture to tell her how much God loved her. This woman was so full of shame over the darkness of her life that she went to draw water in the heat of the day when the other women of the village would not be drawing water.

Jesus met her at the well. He knew everything she had ever done - all the sin and every fear and insecurity. But He spoke directly to her, loved her where she was, and transformed her life with the Gospel of who He is. He listened to her questions and revealed Himself as the answer.

This woman - whose name we don't know - was so changed by her encounter with Jesus that she immediately ran back to the village of people she used to avoid telling the people she had found the Messiah. As a result, the whole village went out to meet Jesus. They listened for themselves and believed for themselves.

I love this story because what Jesus did for her, He did for me. And He can do it for you too!

Angelica means "Messenger of God." And so I echo the woman at the well and say to you, "Come and see a man who has told me everything I have ever done! He cannot be the Messiah, can He?" John 4:29
