In June 2023 I'll be joining a team from the Kentucky District Church of the Nazarene on a Work and Witness trip to Mwanza, Tanzania!
Mwanza is in the northwest area of Tanzania, just south of Lake Victoria. On the map below, you can see how close Mwanza is to where I was in Uganda in January. On this trip, I will be visiting the Tanzania Northwest District Training Center, which is designed to meet the need for pastoral and theological training for leaders from Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, and other areas in East Africa.
Short-term mission trips have two main aspects - there is a project and there is a purpose. For this trip, our project is to help TNDTC with building the kitchen facility. I will be raising funds for my trip expenses ($4000) and our team is also raising funds for the Project Fund to cover expenses to build the kitchen ($12,000). The purpose of our trip is to build relationship with our partner district in Tanzania. The Kentucky District and the Tanzania Northwest District have been working in partnership for several years with a shared goal of making TNDTC a reality. That dream is coming true as there is already a classroom, conference center, and dorm at TNDTC! Our shared goal has also given us a shared bond in serving Jesus together! I am excited to meet my brothers and sisters in Tanzania, to get to know them, and to worship Jesus with them!
Please be in prayer for this trip and the funding of the projects, but especially that our time together will be fruitful and encouraging as we worship and serve God together! I’ll share more about TNDTC in the future!

And for those wondering - Yes, I am actively planning toward long-term missions service. There are many steps in that process, but progress is being made! Going short-term is incredibly valuable and something I’m thrilled to be able to do while I pursue long-term missions placement.
